Kd’s Marshal Hunts Rain or Shine JH, WCI aka: Marshal earned his WCX title in April, 2016 at the NorCal GRC WC/WCX tests. Russell ran him in this test and Marshall worked well for his Dad. In addition, Marshall earned 2 Senior Hunter legs at the NorCal HT in April, 2017 and at the Redwood Empire HT in August, 2017. Marshall spends his week days with Cheryl in her board and train program. But, Marshall is a hunting dog and he and Russell are avid duck hunters so he goes home during hunting season..

Along with receiving recognition at the Singles Series by receiving a JAM!  In April, 2016 she got her WCX Title. She has been with Cheryl on her Board and Train program between showing for her Grand Championship and having a litter. She is the sweetest girl and we expect she will be finishing her Senior Hunter title any day now!

She ran a very clean test in all the series and did not have to be handled on any of her marks. Cheryl is Very proud of this curly girly!

Shadow – JUNIOR HUNTER LEG!!!!

Congratulations to CH Bertschire’s Moonlight, on receiving his first JH leg at Redwood Empire Hunt Test, Smith River, California.  Due to some health issues with Harvey he decided to turn over the reins to Cheryl to work with Shadow. Cheryl did the finishing work for Shadow to be ready for Junior Hunter.  Shadow has been working with Cheryl on her board and train for a few months and is showing great promise for the upper stake work. Shadow did a beautiful job of pinning his marks on land and water and made Cheryl very proud! Cheryl would like to thank Harvey for entrusting her with his baby and she is delighted to be work with such a talented boy! We look forward to many fun tests ahead.

Jade – GOLDEN RETRIEVER HUNT TEST HALL OF FAME!!!

On Father’s Day 2017, Magicgold’s Orient Express, “Jade,” MH, WCX, UDX, OM1, passed her 50th Master Hunter test, qualifying her for the Golden Retriever Hunt Test Hall of Fame.  Suzanne has been a dedicated and enthusiastic dog sport participant, and as a result, Jade has qualified for the Master National Hunt Test for the last six consecutive years and passed the National in California in 2014.

2016-2017 – Fern Hill Sunrise at the Ryman, MH WCX owner Handler Ardith Osborn. We are happy to report Ryman qualified for the Master National and Master Amateur handled by Ardith Osborn and Bruce Hayes.  These three are a wonderful team, dedicated to bringing out the best in their dogs, willing to go the extra step to participate in group training days and lend a hand and a smile to those around them.  Well done team Ryman.

Nico & Bruce – Magicgold Ruff Times WC – “Nico” –  o/h Bruce Hayes – Golden Retriever Female.  Congratulations to Bruce and Nico on earning their Working Certificate Title at the NorCal GRC GRCA WC/WCX Test!  At not even 7 months old, Nico is the youngest in the Magicgold family and brought home a title from her first event!  Bruce and Nico are sure to follow in mother Roca and grandmother Keltie’s footsteps and bring home many more titles and ribbons.  Way to go Bruce and Nico!!!

Leif & Pam – CH Spader Damens Anjou SH WC CGC – “Leif” – owner Pam Morris/ handler Cheryl Baca – Flat-Coated Retriever Male.  Congratulations to owner Pam Morris and handler Cheryl Baca on earning Leif’s Senior Hunter title at the NorCal Golden Retriever Club test!  Cheryl and Leif had an excellent February and March starting in Arizona at the Copper State Hunting Retriever Club test where they received their first pass.  After coming home from Arizona, Cheryl and Leif were on a roll and passed 3 straight tests to finish their title!  Awesome job Team Leif!

Boomer & John – Wingdogs Whiskey On The Rocks SH – “Boomer” – o/h John Rohrbacher – Labrador Retriever Male.  John had a successful weekend at the NorCal Golden Retriever Club test in March bringing home two titles.  On Saturday, he earned his 4th Senior pass with Boomer to complete his Senior Hunter title, and followed up on Sunday with a Junior Hunter title (see below).  John and Boomer earned their previous Senior passes in the Fall at the Sagehens Retriever Club and Marin Retriever Club tests, and in February at the Monterey Bay Hunting Retriever Club test.  Congratulations to this hardworking team!

Quincy & John – Masters-n-Lee Feather River Gold JH – “Quincy” – o/h John Rohrbacher – Golden Retriever Male.  John and Quincy started their hunt test career last Fall, earning their first 2 Junior passes at the Sagehens Retriever Club test, and a week later another pass at the Marin Retriever Club test.  They received their 4th pass for their title at the NorCal Golden Retriever Club test in March.  They still weren’t done and earned 2 extra Junior legs at the Marin Retriever Club’s Spring test.  Congratulations to this great team!

Devon & Christine – Deven Of Arlon JH CD RE WC – “Devon” – o/h Christine Dorcich – Labrador Retriever Female.  Christine and Devon went 5 for 5 to earn their Junior Hunter title with an extra pass!  They received their first pass at the Monterey Bay Hunting Retriever Club test in February, and then another a week later at the Hills Ferry Hunting Retriever Club test.  In March they ran the NorCal Golden Retriever Club test for their third pass, and then title and a bonus pass at the Marin Retriever Club test in Corning.  Way to go Christine and Devon!

Ellis & Jonathan – CH QuinnCreek’s Wings N’ Rings JH – “Ellis” o/h Jonathan Goto – Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever Male.  Jonathan and Ellis earned 4 straight passes for their Junior Hunter title.  They had their debut and first pass at the Monterey Bay Hunting Retriever Club test in February, and then another pass a week later at the Hills Ferry Hunting Retriever Club test.  In March they ran the NorCal Golden Retriever Club test for their third pass, and followed that up at the Marin Retriever Club test for their title.  Congratulations to this hard working team!

Marshal & Russell – Kd’s Marshal Hunts Rain Or Shine JH – “Marshal” – o/h Russell Hubbard – Nova Scotial Duck Tolling Retriever Male.  Marshal had his hunt test debut on the road at the Copper State Hunting Retriever Club test in Arizona, where Cheryl handled him and got his first Junior Hunter leg.  He received his next JH pass at the NorCal Golden Retriever Club test with Russell and then got his last 2 passes for his title at the Marin Retriever Club test in Corning.  Congratulations Marshal and Russell!

Andy & Mimi – 1st MH Leg – Ch Rockyhill’s Once You Go Black SH WCX CGC – “Andy” – o/h Mimi Ruiz/David Taft – Flat-Coated Retriever Male.  Mimi and Andy received their first MH pass in October at the Labrador Retriever Club of Southern California test held in Chino.  They also took a trip in February to Arizona and earned another MH leg at the Copper State Hunting Retriever Club test.  Great job Team Andy, congratulations!

Reegan & Bruce – Qualified for 2016 Master National – Magicgold Ruff ‘N Ready To Go MH WCX – “Reegan” – o/h Bruce Hayes – Golden Retriever Female.  Congratulations to Bruce and Reegan for qualifying for the 2016 Master National!  This is the 3rd year in a row that this talented team has qualified for the Master National, and they earned their 6 qualifying passes before the end of 2015.

Tux & Pat – 1st MH legs – Aqueus White Tie And Tails SH – “Tux” – o/h Pat Romeiro – Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever Male.  Congratulations to Pat and Tux on earning their first and second MH passes!  They made the trek to Arizona in February for the Copper State Hunting Retriever Club double header test and it was well worth the trip, coming home with 2 passes.  All your hard work is paying off, great job!!

Hazy & Cathy – 1st SH Leg – Magicgold’s Red Sky at Morning RN JH CGC – “Hazy” – o/h Cathy Colley – Golden Retriever Female.  Congratulations to Cathy and Hazy on earning their first SH pass at the Marin Retriever Club test!  Cathy came up to Northern California from San Diego for her annual Spring training trip with Cheryl and her Magicgold family.  It only seems fitting that Hazy got her first SH leg while in Northern California where she came from.  Way to go Cathy and Hazy!!

The 2014 Master National was well represented by dogs and handlers from Cheryl’s Dog Training.  There were eight dog and handler teams that qualified to run at the Master National, and six of these teams entered the event.  It is quite an accomplishment to qualify and run at the Master National, and each team deserves a big congratulations!

Congratulations to Keltie & Cheryl, and Keltie’s daughter Jade and O/H Suzanne Mikolajcik for completing all six series and earning a coveted pewter plate at the 2014 Master National!  These dog and handler pairs demonstrated great teamwork and composure, running the tests over an eight day period in conditions ranging from hot sunshine, to blustery winds and rain.  All of their dedication and time spent training in preparation for the event were well rewarded.  Cheryl is very proud to have 2 Magicgold dogs finish the 2014 Master National!  Outstanding job Keltie and Jade!!!

Congratulations to Kathy and Rion on earning their Working Certificate Intermediate title at the Golden Retriever Club of Greater Los Angeles WC/WCX held in Chino!  They had to wait out a downpour and deal with a very muddy and mucky test site, but Rion did nicely on the water and passed the land series with flying colors.  Way to go Kathy and Rion!!

“Stryker & Michael – New WC, WCX, SH Titles”

Quartermoon Stryker California Gold SH WCX – “Stryker” – o/h Michael Fauria – Golden Retriever Male

Congratulations to Michael and Stryker on earning their WC, WCX and Senior Hunter titles! In May Stryker earned both WC/WCX titles at the Norcal GRC test held at Denverton.  He then passed four straight Senior Hunter tests to earn his SH title!  Michael and Stryker earned their first SH pass at the Salem Retriever Trial Club hunt test in Oregon in July.  The team followed that up with another pass at the Redwood Empire Retriever Club test in August, and then earned the last two passes at the Sagehens Retriever Club Fall Hunt Test at Denverton in September.  Michael gives credit to Cheryl for preparing him for whatever the judges could throw at them.  He also thanks her for training him to be able to help Stryker perform at his best.  Now that the hunt test season is over, Stryker will be pheasant hunting in Nebraska and duck hunting in California.  Congratulations to a great team!!

Congratulations to Jeanne and Tide on their Senior Hunter title!   A couple months after earning their JH, Jeanne and Tide ran their first Senior test at the Sierra Nevada Retriever Club Spring test and earned a Senior Hunter leg there.  They got a second SH leg on the road in Utah later that month, and finished their title in September at the Sagehens Retriever Club Fall Hunt Test.  What a great Summer and Fall they’ve had!  Congratulations on this wonderful accomplishments!!

Congratulations to Deb and Ali’i on earning their Master Hunter title at the Northeast Washington Gun Dog Club’s Summer Hunt Test!  Deb and Ali’i had a great time on the road this summer and traveled to Nevada, Utah, Oregon and Washington running some hunt tests.  They obtained a MH pass at each of these places to go along with the pass they earned earlier in the year, and earned their title at the end of July in Washington.  Deb is very proud of her little brown dog who earned her Master Hunter title at the age of 2 years, 3 1/2 months.

Congratulations to Jean and Angel on earning both their WC and WCX titles at the Norcal GRC WC/WCX Test held at Denverton in May!  Jean is proud of Angel running in both the WC and the WCX tests and bringing home 2 ribbons.  Jean and Angel had a very busy May and also ran hunt tests just before and after the WC/WCX.  They earned their first Senior Hunter pass at the Sierra Nevada Hunting Retriever Club test in Fallon at the beginning of May, and their second SH leg at Lost Hills the weekend after they got their WC/WCX titles.  In September, Angel got her third SH pass at the Sagehens Retriever Club Fall test.  I’m sure we’ll be hearing about her Senior Hunter title real soon!  Congratulations to this great team!!

Congratulations to Cheryl and Roca on earning their Senior Hunter Title 4 for 4 at the Copper State Hunting Retriever Club Hunt Test in Arizona in February!  Roca was one of four dogs to qualify at the Arizona test. She lined her land blind, pinned her land and water marks as well handled to the water blind despite having the memory bird gunner walking around distracting her.  Roca and Cheryl started the spring hunt tests as strong as they ended the fall tests, and earned the last Senior pass for their title on their trip to Arizona.  It was a great trip to Arizona for Cheryl, as she not only earned Roca’s Senior Hunter Title, but also earned 2 Master passes for both Gabby and Keltie!

Ardith and Ryman received their Master Hunter title at the Sagehens Retriever Club Fall Hunt Test held at Denverton over the October 7th-8th weekend.  Ardith wants to thank Cheryl and the groups she trains with for all the help and support they’ve given her along the journey towards this accomplishment!  She said that Ryman is a very exciting dog to run and she’s learning a lot from him, but without Cheryl none of their achievements would have been possible.  Congratulations to a very talented team!!!

Ali’i and Debbie had a busy Fall, running hunt tests and field trials, and earning some ribbons at both!  At the Marin Retriever Club (MRC) Fall Hunt Test at the end of August/beginning of September, they entered their first Senior Hunter stake and earned their first leg.  The following weekend, they ran their first Derby at MRC’s Derby/Qual Field Trial and brought home a Judges Award of Merit (JAM) in the Derby.  The next day they entered the Sagehens Retriever Club Fall Hunt Test and earned their second Senior Hunter leg.  In October they did a lot of traveling.  They went down to Lost Hills the 2nd and 3rd weekends in October and earned two more Derby JAMs.  Then the following weekend they went to Chino and ran the double Senior stake of the Labrador Retriever Club of Southern California Fall Hunt Test, earning the final two legs for their Senior Hunter title.  Debbie is very proud of her little brown dog who earned her SH title at under 19 months old!  She said that Ali’i is so much fun to run and always exciting, although maybe scary, to watch.  Debbie would like to thank Cheryl for all her guidance and training that allowed her and Ali’i to obtain these accomplishments!

Roca and Cheryl made their Senior Hunter debut at the Sagehens Retriever Club Fall Hunt Test in September at Denverton and got earned their first pass!  They took a roadtrip down to Chino in October to run in the Labrador Retriever Club of Southern California Fall Hunt Test and came home with two more Senior passes.  Roca and Cheryl are well on their way to completing their Senior Hunter title and will soon be joining the rest of the Magicgold dogs running in Master!  Cheryl is very proud of ‘baby’ Roca.  Congratulations to the youngest of Cheryl’s Magicgold girls!!

Cheryl had a busy and successful Fall with her older dogs too.  Keltie earned 3 more Master Hunter legs at the Marin Retriever Club Fall Test and the Sagehens Retriever Club Fall Test at Denverton, and at the Labrador Retriever Club of Southern California Fall Hunt Test in Chino.  In between the hunt tests, they also earned a JAM in the Qualifying stake of the California South Coast Retriever Club Fall Field Trial.  Congratulations to a very talented team!!!

Not to be outdone by her sister, Gabby was also very successful running the Fall hunt tests!  Cheryl and Gabby also received passes at the Marin and Sagehens tests at Denverton, as well as the Labrador Retriever Club of Southern California test in Chino.  Cheryl says that she always enjoys running Gabby because she loves doing her job and is fun to run!  Great job Cheryl and Gabby!!!

NEW TITLES:

“Roca & Cheryl – New JH Title”

Roca started out this year’s hunt test season as strong as she ended last year’s and earned three straight passes to finish her Junior Hunter title.  Her first test this year was at the Monterey Bay Hunt Test in Los Banos in February and then her last two passes were at the Marin Retriever Club Hunt Test in Corning in March.  Cheryl is very proud of her ‘baby’ dog.  We’ll be seeing a lot more accomplishments from this team throughout the year.  Congratulations Cheryl and Roca!!!

“Angel & Jean – New JH Title”

Sunbeam’s The Devil Made Me Do It – “Angel” – o/h Jean Mott – Golden Retriever Female

Angel made her hunt test debut by taking a roadtrip to Arizona for the Copper State Hunting Retriever Club’s test in February.  The trip was well worth it for Jean and Angel as they came home with 2 Junior passes!  A few weeks later Angel earned another Junior pass at the Hills Ferry test in Los Banos. The following week Angel earned her title at the Marin Retriever Club test in Corning.  What a great accomplishment for Jean and her ‘baby’ dog to complete her Junior Hunter title before she was even 11 months old!  Congratulations to this talented team!!

“Ali’i & Debbie – New JH Title”

Hui Nalu’s Royal Flush With A Joker – “Ali’i” – o/h Debbie Chun – Labrador Retriever Female

Ali’i made her hunt test debut in February at the Monterey Bay Hunting Retriever Club’s test in Los Banos and earned her first pass.  Debbie and Ali’i returned to Los Banos at the beginning of March for the Hills Ferry test and earned their 2nd JH leg.  They drove up to Corning the following week and did one day of the Marin Retriever Club hunt test and brought home another JH ribbon.  Then at the Norcal Golden Retriever Club test the next weekend, they earned their JH title on Saturday and got an extra leg on Sunday.  Debbie is very proud of her little brown girl.  Congratulations!

“Kodiak & Gail – New JH and WC Titles”

Flyway Farms Thunder on the Mountain – “Kodiak” – o/h Gail Crawford – Flat-Coated Retriever Male

Gail and Kodiak completed their Junior Hunter title this Spring after earning JH passes at the Monterey Bay Hunting Retriever Club test and the Hills Ferry Retriever Club test!  These two weren’t quite finished with their spring competitions, and earned their WC in May at the Norcal Golden Retriever Club’s WC/WCX test.  They are now training for Senior Hunter and will be just as successful there.  Congratulations Gail and Kodiak on your Junior Hunter and Working Certificate titles!!!

“Raven & John – New JH Title”

John and Raven earned their Junior Hunter title going 4 for 4, getting their first 2 passes at the Norcal Golden Retriever Club hunt test in March and then a couple weeks later finishing at the Lassen Retriever Club test at the beginning of April!  This is John’s first time handling a dog in hunt tests and he’s doing a great job with his talented girl.  They are sure to be bringing home more ribbons and titles in the future! Congratulations to this very talented team!!

“Tux & Pat – New JH Title”

Aqueus White Tie And Tails – “Tux” – o/h Pat Romeiro – Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever Male

Pat and Tux qualified in their 1st two HTs at the Sierra Nevada Retriever Club on May 3rd and 5th in Fallon, NV.  A couple weeks later Tux earned his 3rd and 4th passes at the California South Coast Retriever Club hunt test in Lost Hills, CA on May 18th & 19th to complete his Junior Hunter title.  Pat thanks Cheryl for her consistent and diligent training and patience with her and Tux.  Congratulations to this team on their accomplishment and now on to Senior Hunter!!!

“Julep & Xan – New JH Title”

The FCR crew at Flyway Farms has another Junior Hunter in its midst, with Julep earning her JH title at the Labrador Retriever Club of Southern California in April.  Congratulations to Julep and Xan!!  Besides finishing her Junior Hunter title this Spring, Julep started her show career and won two 5-point majors in her first show!

“Shasta & Sue – New SH Title”

Magicgold’s It Has to be Shasta CD WCX SH – “Shasta” – o/h Sue Stauffer – Golden Retriever Female

Sue and Shasta completed their Senior Hunter title at the Monterey Bay Hunt Club test on February 19. To date, Shasta has now passed 8 consecutive Senior tests.  Sue said that the most challenging test was the Hills Ferry test.  One-half of the dogs went out on the land series.  The water series was measured at 150 yards with at least 20 yards of solid tules to go through before getting to the water.  For both the go-bird and the memory bird Shasta somehow made it through all the tules and came out on line and picked up both of her birds with no handles. Sue said that they got a huge cheer and several high fives when they finished.  Ten of the 40 dogs running qualified and almost all of the dogs that did qualify were handled by pros.  Way to do Sue and Shasta!!  Congratulations to this hard working and talented dog and handler team!!!

“Andy & Mimi & David – New SH and WC Titles”

Rockyhill’s Once You Go Black SH WC – “Andy” – o/h Mimi Ruiz & David Taft – Flat-Coated Retriever Male

Mimi, David and Andy had a very busy and successful two months from mid-March to mid-May, earning both Senior Hunter and WC titles!  They earned their first SH pass at the Marin Retriever Club test in Corning in March, then traveled to Anderson in April for the Lassen Retriever Club test where they earned their 2nd SH pass.  Their next road trip was to Fallon, NV for the Sierra Nevada Retriever Club test at the beginning of May.  Once again they came home with a SH ribbon!  They decided to stay home for a week and competed at the Norcal Golden Retriever Club’s WC/WCX test held at Denverton on May 11th, where Andy earned his WC title.  The next week they were on the road again and traveled down to Lost Hills for the California South Coast Retriever Club test and earned their Senior Hunter title there! Mimi said that they drove 33+ hours and who knows how many miles and were exhausted, but very happy, after two months of seemingly “on the road.”   Congratulations to this very dedicated and talented team of Mimi, David and Andy!!!

“Lilah & Xan – New SH Title”

Xan and Lilah have a lot to be proud of so far this year!  Besides two of Lilah’s puppies (Kodiak and Julep) earning their JH titles this Spring, Lilah earned her Senior Hunter title in June at the Great Western Flat-Coated Retriever Club test in Chino.  What a talented crew Xan has raised and trained!  Congratulations to Xan and Lilah!!!

“Teak & Kathy – New MH Title”

Big congratulations to Kathy and Teak on obtaining their Master Hunter title at the California South Coast Retriever Club hunt test at Lost Hills in May!  Kathy and Teak have had a very busy Spring traveling to hunt tests in Arizona and Nevada, as well as various locations in California.  After getting their first Master pass last October, they started out this year going to Arizona for the Copper State Hunting Retriever Club’s test in February, and came home with their 2nd MH pass.  They received their 3rd pass in Anderson, CA at the Lassen test in early April.  A month later, they traveled to Fallon, NV to run in the Sierra Nevada Retriever Club’s hunt test, and came home with their 4th pass.  Two weeks later, they got their final leg to earn their title!  Kathy has done a wonderful job and should be very proud of her little red rocket dog!  Way to go Teak and Kathy!!!

Congratulations are in order for Bruce and Reegan on their new Master Hunter title!  This talented and hardworking team completed their Master Hunter title in less than a year, earning their first pass last October and their fifth and final pass in June.  In addition, they achieved this accomplishment and Reegan isn’t even 3 years old!  Bruce says that Reegan is so good she just needs him to take the birds so she can go get the next one.  He also credits Cheryl for picking Reegan out of the litter for him, and said that without her wisdom and insight none of this would have happened.  Bruce and Reegan have definitely made Cheryl very proud!  Congratulations on this fantastic accomplishment!!!

“Echo & Cathy – New WCX Title”

Echo earned her WCX at the NorCal Golden Retriever WCX test on May 11.  This was Echo’s first time having to be steady with live flyers.  Cathy is very happy to say she was solid in her sits as she watched the birds going down. Cathy is so proud of this girl coming back from 4 months off, raring to go and being able to pick up where she left off.  It’s great to see this team back in the field and doing so well!  Congratulations to Cathy and Echo on this latest title!!

“Carly & Karen – New WC Title”

Congratulations to Karen and Carly on earning their Working Certificate title!  Even though Karen and Carly are newbies to the game, Carly’s natural talents are already showing.  They earned their WC in May at at the Golden Gate and Sierra Vista Labrador Retriever Club’s WC and WCX test.  Karen said that they went to the test just to observe, but got talked into entering, and to her surprise Carly passed!  She said Carly had no problems and delivered all birds right to her.  We’ll be seeing a lot more from this talented team.  Way to go Karen and Carly!!

Congratulations to Jean and Ember on earning their 3rd Master Hunter pass at the Hills Ferry Hunting Retriever Club’s test in March!  Jean is taking the rest of the Summer off to have knee surgery, but we expect to see her and Ember back in the field in the Fall working towards the last 2 passes for their title.

“Flyer & Jean – Qualified for 2013 Master National”

The oldest of Jean’s Sunbeam girls, Flyer continues to run strong and has earned 6 Master passes from last October to this March and is now qualified to run at the 2013 Master National.  Congratulations to Jean and Flyer on this great accomplishment!

Congratulations to Ardith and Ryman on their 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Master passes!  Ardith and Ryman continue to exhibit great teamwork and earned passes at the Marin Retriever Club’s test and the Norcal Golden Retriever Club’s test in March.  They also took a road trip to Glide, OR for the Umpqua Valley Retriever Club’s test and came home with their 4th Master ribbon.  Great job Ardith and Ryman!!

Boy Wonder and Xan earned 3 more Master passes, giving them a total of 4 Master legs.  Boy Wonder was in Ohio in April and earned 2 passes at the Ohio Valley Retriever Club Spring Hunt Test.  After returning home, he and Xan went down to Chino and got another pass at the Great Western Flat-Coated Retriever Club test.  Great job Boy and Xan, one more leg to go!  Congratulations!!

“Monkey & Cheryl – New MH Title”

Magicgold’s Run Thru’ The Jungle MH WCX**- “Monkey” – O/H Cheryl Baca – Golden Retriever Female

Monkey became the newest Magicgold Master Hunter, earning her title at the Labrador Retriever Club of Southern California Hunt Test in Chino!  Cheryl and Monkey had a fantastic string of Fall tests, earning 3 straight passes starting at the Marin test, followed by the Sagehens test and then finishing their title at the test in Chino.  In true Monkey style, she made it a little more ‘exciting’ by getting into a wasp nest on one of her blinds, but being the well trained dog that she is, she still worked with Cheryl and handled to the blind.  Though scary for Cheryl to see Monkey with wasps all over her, it also made her proud to see how well Monkey performed through such an ordeal!  Congratulations Cheryl and Monkey on your new Master Hunter Title!!!

Sam and Guiness have had quite the summer and fall!  They earned their WC title at the Norcal Golden Retriever Club WC/WCX test in the summer then continued their excellent field work earning 2 JH passes at the Marin Retriever Club Fall test in September.  They finished out the fall tests earning their Junior Hunter title at Sagehens Fall test in October.  Along the way, they also earned 2 additional agility titles.  Congratulations to this multi-talented team!

Pat and Trigger have been training hard all summer and it certainly paid off.  Pat and Trigger drove up the coast in August to Smith River for the Redwood Empire Retriever Club’s test and earned their first two Senior Hunter passes.  Then a few weeks later they ran in the Marin Retriever Club test and picked up another two SH legs to finish their Senior Hunter title with four straight passes!  Congratulations to this hardworking team!!!

What a year Bruce and Reegan have had.  They started out 2012 finishing up their JH title, and they closed the Fall tests with their first MH pass!  Besides finishing their JH and SH titles (detailed in Spring 2012 Accomplishments page) Reegan also earned her Certificate of Conformation Assessment (CCA) at the Norcal GRC event this summer.  They took a roadtrip with a few other of Cheryl’s students to Chino in October and came home with their first MH pass from the Labrador Retriever Club of Southern California test.  Congratulations to a wonderful team!!!

Echo had an amazing Summer and Cathy is and should be very proud of her girl!  In June they finished their Novice Agility (NA) and Companion Dog (CD) titles here in the US.  Then in July they traveled to Canada for the Canadian Flat Coat Specialty and completed Echo’s Canadian CD, WC and WCI.  The weekend prior to the specialty was a hunt test put on by the Golden Retriever Club of British Columbia, and there they ran a JH double header and qualified both days!  Congratulations to this great team!!  These two are on a roll!  As Cathy said, “There is no stopping us now!”

Lilah and Xan had a great summer and fall.  At their Specialty in June, Lilah earned a JAM in the Steady Singles field event, a Senior Hunter pass at the hunt test, and also their Working Certificate Excellent!  At Marin’s fall hunt test, they earned their second SH leg.  Then 2 weeks later at the Sagehens test, they added their third SH leg to their many accomplishments.  Congratulations Xan and Lilah!!!

Though little in size, Minnow showed she’s a big dog when it comes to the field!  At their roadtrip to the Flat Coat Specialty, Xan and Minnow came away with many ribbons.  On their first day, Minnow earned a JAM at the Steady Singles competition.  Next, they moved on to the hunt test stakes where they passed both the Junior and Senior tests.  Finally on Sunday they passed both the Working Certificate and Working Certificate Excellent events.  Their successes continue into the fall season, as they earned another Senior Hunter leg at the Marin Retriever Club hunt test this September.  Great job Xan and Minnow!!!

Baby Julep made her field debut on the road in Wisconsin this June at the Flat Coated Retriever Society Specialty and earned her Working Certificate.  In September Xan and Julep earned two JH legs at the Marin Retriever Club hunt test.  She followed that up with a third JH pass at the Sagehens Retriever Club Fall Hunt Test in October.  Congratulations to this up and coming team!!

While Layla may be the senior member of Xan’s FCR pack, she still runs hard like the youngsters.  At the Flat Coated Retriever Society Specialty show this June, Layla and Xan added a JAM in the Steady Singles and a Master Hunter pass to their many achievements!  Great job Xan and Layla!

Boy Wonder lived up to his name at the Flat Coated Retriever Society Specialty this summer!  Xan and Boy Wonder had an awesome weekend of field events.  They started the weekend off on Friday with a JAM in the Steady Singles event.  Then on Saturday they moved on to the Master and Senior hunt tests where they passed both stakes and earned MH and SH legs.  Finally on Sunday, they closed out the weekend earning a JAM in the field trial Qualifying stake, as well as earning their WCX.  Congratulations to Xan and Boy Wonder on a fantastic weekend!!!

Ch Ardenwood’s As Time Goes By SH Am Can WCX – “Zip” – o/h Joe Skorupa – Flat Coated Retriever Male

Congratulations to Joe and Zip on their outstanding showing at the 2012 Flat Coated Retriever Society Specialty this summer in Wisconsin!  Joe and Patti and their FCR gang made a fun roadtrip to Wisconsin  in June and while there, Joe and Zip proceeded to come out on top of a field of 70+ dogs to win the Steady Singles field event!  They did it in style, winning a runoff on the second day of the competition.  Wow!!!

Patti and June didn’t just go along for the ride to the Flat Coated Retriever Society Specialty in June, and also had a fantastic showing in the field events!  First, they started out by getting a JAM in the Unsteady Singles event, then the next day they earned a JH leg at the hunt test, and finally, they earned their Working Certificate!  Congratulations on a great job Patti and June!!!

Dodger and Patti also had a great showing at their National Specialty this summer.  They earned their Working Certificate Excellent in the field events and then took 3rd in a very strong 7-9  Veterans class in the conformation ring!  Way to go Patti and Dodger!!
